More information about the program
The Starksboro Sports Ski & Ride Program at Cochran’s Ski Area is an after school ski and snowboard program with an emphasis on skiing and riding safely and on having fun! The SSP Ski & Ride Program is for all elementary-aged Starksboro children; however, any kindergarten-aged participant must be accompanied by his or her parent at all times. We are looking for volunteers to help us manage the program. Please use the registration form to indicate how you can help. We will contact you to work out the details. Please consider volunteering even if you can’t make it every Thursday,– we need all the help we can get! No skiing/boarding experience necessary. Thank you! Full and partial scholarships are available on a limited basis. Please indicate your interest on the registration form. Participants will take a bus to Cochran’s every Thursday from 1/10/19 to 3/14/19 with the exception of 2/21 and 2/28. The bus will leave RES at 1:45 pm Transportation back to Starksboro is NOT provided. Parents/guardians are required to pick up their children at Cochran’s Ski Area no later than 5 pm every Thursday. You must sign your children out with our volunteer in the lodge before taking them home. Helmets are required for all participants. Loaner helmets are available at Cochran’s. In the event that rental equipment is needed, the equipment fitting will be held at Cochran’s on Wednesday, 1/9 between 5 and 6:30 pm. All children renting equipment must attend the fitting. Please note that snowboard rentals are limited and will be provided on a first come, first served basis. If school is cancelled on a Thursday, the Ski & Ride Program will be cancelled on that day as well. PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS We at Starksboro Sports Program are extremely fortunate to have a well-established relationship with Cochran’s Ski Area. To ensure a respectful, safe, and fun experience, we need everyone involved to be fully aware of our participant expectations. For our student athletes:
